For my final major project an idea I have had is to look into using tunnels in design. As on the site I want to use Greengate manchester (see link for the site http://manchesterhistory.net/manchester/gone/salfordbus.html) the space has been recently approved to become Greengate a connection from Salford to Manchester.
See link for proposed Greengate cove: http://www.irwellriverpark.com/greengate-open-day.html
I have chosen this site because has great qualities and isn’t being used to its full potential, it needs to be used (hence why appeal for Greengate was approved) I think the tunnels would be a good use of space and unusual so I’ve decided to look into other architects that have used tunnels in their design…..

Reflective architecture
Jon Brouchouds has used virtual tours around buildings. Parts of the buildings have virtual walls and displays that can be dimmed in light or brightened as a person stands near or far away from it. He thought about how he could visually mark who has been there throughout the day, as a way to feel less lonely, walls that can grow or shrink depending on how many people visit the place that day.
